Quadripartite One Health legislative assessment tool for antimicrobial resistance
The One Health Legislative Assessment Tool for AMR (OHLAT), developed by the Quadripartite (FAO, UNEP, WHO, WOAH) with support from the AMR Multi-Partner Trust Fund, helps countries review and analyze their AMR-related legislation across all relevant sectors. It is not an evaluation mechanism but a framework for identifying strengths, gaps, and areas needing further analysis, based on international standards and good practices. The tool is structured in seven chapters: the first addresses cross-cutting, multi-sectoral issues such as governance and integrated surveillance, while the remaining chapters focus on sector-specific legislative elements to ensure coherence and avoid duplication. Each chapter provides international reference standards, guidance, and assessment questions to guide countries through the process.
